Vintage Air?
Has anyone used the vintage air kit that goes up to the 86 pickups? I am thinking about putting the system in my 87, because I want to smooth the firewall out and clean up the engine bay a bit. What do you guys think?
http://www.vintageair.com/catalog.asp It is on page 48, It looks like a clean system...from the little I have price checked, it looks to go for around 1K.

I have that system in my 77. I haven't charged it yet but it was very easy to install.
If I were you I would call and talk to Rick Love over at Vintage Air. Ask him about the year model stopping at 86. After doing the install in my 77 I can't really see why it wouldn't work in your 87. One thing that is not included in the kit is the controller panel. You will need one from a 73-77 HEAT ONLY no AC. That was a little nugget of info they didn't tell you about 2 years ago. I see they include that very important piece of information now.
