38's work temporarily with 7 inches of lift?

You guys think I could stuff 38x15.5s on 16x10s with 3" body + 4" suspension for STREET driving only for a little while? The rear isn't the question here, just the front and steering clearance in particular.

I am thinking if I take it easy, and am very careful around turns and driveways I may be able to pull it off. Maybe for one month max, and only driving like 5 miles a week on city streets (rest highway) until I can get my springs on.

Why not, you just have to know your limitations. The 35s on my GMC will rub every now and then, just have to know when and adapt.

1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone.
1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed.

1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

i dont think so. i have 38s 12.5 superswampers on my 3/4 ton with a 6 in lift. i had to cut the fenders waayyy out just to drive it. you can buy shackle extensions at autozone for 30 bucks and give you another 2"in in the front. if you dont mind doing a little fender cutting, you dont need anything.no problem. i am almost positive the will not fit on a 7in lift with out modifications even if your a carefull driver, they will chew the fenders off . i cant even dissconect my swaybar when offroading......rat

I don't need to do shackle extensions- I have brand new 6" springs sitting right here. I just don't have the time to install everything in one shot... Want to spread the work

You'll be fine. I have done and drove my truck for two years with that set up. I had 15x12in rims and 38.5x15x15.5 Gumbo Monster Mudders

Shackle extensions only give you half of the lift that the length difference will be. They will change your caster and pinion angles and are just technology (and I use that term loosely) Don't do it
