bumper impact strip?

its dark out, so i'll ask y'all...

does the impact strip on the front bumper pop off, or how is it attached? I bought a grill guard and it attaches using the stock bumper bolts, but one of them is behind the impact strip.

Thanks, -Nick

Yeah, it does, somewhat. You'll need to pinch two little tabs on the back and push forwards to pop it out. Huge pain in the butt to get them all, and you'll have little holes in your bumper unless you cut it so the grill guard will fit.

Can you post pics of the bumper guards installed after cutting the impact strip?

yeah, i wont have a chance to do it til probably sometime next week...plus its freezing outside...i'm thinking of mounting it with the bottom bolts, marking where the tab hits the strip, and then using a grinding wheel to cut it out

That turned out nice. It looks much better than if you had mounted it on top of the strip....

yeah, i like it...we pulled the bumper off and marked where the mounts sat and used a grinder to take off just the area that was needed...you can tell if you get right up on it but its not that noticable....i need to clean it up a little still
