Check Engine Light

Hey all,

I'm looking at an 88 Burb, owner says the check engine light comes on about 45 minutes after the car is started. Every time, like clockwork.

Anyone have an idea as to what this might be? I'm sort of puzzled.

Thanks in advance,

Kurt

Lazy oxygen sensor?

You'll have to pull the trouble code to make sure. I've seen a '91 Taurus 3.0L have similar behavior, but it turned out to be a bad (read: plugged up) EGR sensor.

The good news is that you can pull the trouble codes on an '88 with just a paper clip and a technical reference like a Haynes manual, etc.

Good luck!
