May I suggest a razor blade and some sort of lubricant. Soapy water, windex, what ever, just so long as it stays wet while using the razor blade. My son made the mistake of using a dry razor blade to remove tint on his 77 C10. Left some major scratchs in the glass.

removing tint
I bought a kit at Auto Zone that had a spray bottle with some type of solution that softened up the tint and glue. Worked pretty good as long as you don't rush it. Allow the tint plenty of time to soak and it comes right off.

Just to be sure, are you trying to remove sprayed on tint, a coating, or tinted film that's adhered to the glass?

thanks for the reply all. I like the rock idea the best. I did replace both side windows, however, I will scrape the wings. And yes, it is that thirty year old purple crap.

Cold Weather
A few years ago I was forced to remove my tint during the winter. As I pulled off the tint, to my surprise, the glue came off with it. It must've been -10 F without the wind chill but it worked better than any razor blade. So, if you're in a cold environmnet give that a try because you need to pull the tint off first regardless of the method you use removing the glue.

The glue was the easy part. I used Goo Gone. I love that stuff.
