Non factory A.C.

I recently got a 1970 GMC longbed. It is sporting a ROAMER MARK IV under dash A.C., and I was curious as to keep it or not. The belt is off, but the system still has pressure so chances are no water in it. Is this something that would be worth fixing and add value to the truck or should I just pull it and go on? The only other system like this I messed with, (20 yrs ago), just spit snow and froze up a lot. I'm not even sure I'll keep the truck, but with 85,000 mile and unmolested I just might. Any ideas?
