Made it out the driveway and back for the first time

I took the truck to get gas, to Blockbuster and and to the grocery store, (all in the same complex). First trip up the road and back, and it made it back! Anyway, the timing is still to far advanced, it's real hard to start warm, the header leaks, I hooked up the heater core, but coolant just ran out, so no heat or defrost yet, and has a stumble when you try to speed up from a cruising speed. I'm just happy it got me there and back. Now for a longer trip, today's was maybe 5 miles. No leaks though, and everything basically worked fine.

Great

Made you feel good didn't it? I went up the street for the first time two weeks ago. Took it to get the door poppers worked on. They had less of a clue than I did. (The people who worked on them). Got back to the house smelled something not right. It appears that the left rear brake pads were rubbing. It has disks all the way around. Well after two to five nights after work and a whole weekend days of checking this and that out, I had a Buddy come over who tells me that My rear bracket on the rear end for the Nine Inch with disks I have is not welded on the axle tub correctly. (The rear end is a Ford and has been shortened eight inches). I end up putting a lock washer in the top two bolts to compensate for the tightness of the pads. Tomorrow I get to take it out for the second time. Makes you wanna get a Beer don't it?

A beer? There's no such thing! I was thinking of filling the bed with cases!

Congrats on the first succesful tour!! I had hoped to have my truck runnin by June. It was October when I made the maiden vouage home from the Muffler shop. ( I got it towed there. 20 yrs ago I'd just as likely drove it there with open headers and a beer between my legs. But, I'm not like that anymore) Since then it's been a couple times around the block. It's still got lots of issues issues, but it's got cold now. After spending ALL my free time this spring & summer on my truck I didn't get around to getting the heat put in my shop. She's on the back burner for a while, but I can say I drove it. Maybe by next June I'll be able to go five miles.. Good on you man!

Ransy, that's my kind of truck! I think we should build it, and I'd be happy to keep it garaged at my house!

I've already started gathering the parts (really), I'll probably need help drinking the beer though.

Do you think you could run a 100 mile pipeline with a tap to my house? It'd be a lot more convenient than having to drive there every time a want a beer. However, after all that beer, I'm sure a lot of interesting projects could be completed! (Hey, how come there's only 3 wheels on this truck?) Damn Randy, you made me have to run to the fridge for a beer and I havent even eaten dinner yet!. (Like that ever stopped me.)

I think that a pipeline might ruin the accuracy of the "born-on" date, resulting in stale beer.
