Volt guage?
You talking an aftermarket voltage guage...or the stock amperage guage? |

look on both sides of the engine compartment in the wire harnesses. You're looking for small black rubber inline fuses on both sides.
You probably have one or two blown fuses. |

my wire harness runs on top of the rad support....then through the drivers fender to the firewall....which part of it will they be in? doesn't the brown wire from the alternator go directly to the guage?

That's weird, I'm having trouble with mine too. I'm getting power through the fused wire to the gauge so I guess mine's bad. My Granddad installed an aftermarket gauge under the dash so it's cool for now. Is there any way to use an ohm meter or something to check it?

The fuses Andy is referring to are on the front corners of the wiring harness---where the fender and radiator support meet. Little bitty things but inline. Usually break just trying to inspect them. Most common cause for gauge failure.
