Question Anyone making Carbon fiber cowl hoods 69-72??

Or any Carbon fiber hoods for that matter?

No carbon fiber hoods for our trucks that I know of but there is someone making them for early GM's (Nova's, Chevelle's and Camaro's). I heard that they would change color due to no UV protection. I guess you could paint it but then for what it would cost to buy a carbon fiber, I don't think the weight savings would justify the cost over fiberglass.

The US BODY 69-72 race hood weighs 7 pounds, the race 69-72 cowl hood tilt front end weighs 68 pounds, I just weighted them to get a shipping quote yesterday.

You still have the tilt front end for 400 clams??? if so how much to ship to 96007

bagged72blaz, Here are a couple companies that are capable of making a carbon fiber hood. From the hoods that are available for cars, it looks like they are double what the fiberglass ones are. Carbon-Werks andCarbon Fiber Manufacturing.
