Electrical problem help...

Hi. Today my truck started to act weird. The headlights and dash lights would go brighter, then dimmer, then brighter again, flickering slowly. Heater fan sped and slowed as well. i sthis a sign of a bad voltage reg? Should I convert to an internally regulated alt? Thanks.

It sounds like the regulator is giving you a problem. Converting to internal regulator is a very good option. Internal regulators don't have near the problems that external ones do.

Yes this relatively cheap conversion to intern. regulated alt. is a very good upgrade. I did it to mine 6 months ago and havent a problem with charging or starting or anything electrical. Although this may not be the problem, your alternator could be bad. I would have them chacked and then decide wether or not you want to upgrade.
