2wd Lift

Alot of you out there slam your trucks, and there are plenty of Aftermarket parts from spring, bags, and spindles to accomplish that. I want to do the opposite. Id like a 6 inch 2wd lift. I Live in arizona, and do some off road motorcycle racing. Id like to be able to take my 2wd truck off-roadin a bit.

Has anyone ever done this to a 2wd before, and can you help me source the parts? And no..I dont wanna sell it and buy a 4wd. I already have an 87 4wd 3/4 ton 'burban thats lifted...

I have a 69 4x4 that I bought with a 4" body lift, but I don't know where the parts came from, the truck was already lifted. They did a hack job extending the steering column shaft. I'm sure there is a kit out there somewhere, but you'll need to modify your steering shaft and the bumpers will need to be relocated. When I get around to restoring my 4x4 I'm taking the lift off and not putting it back in. I've also never seen a lifted 2wd 67-72. As far as a suspension lift......never heard or anyone who would make parts for a coil suspension. Your best bet would be to find a 67-72 gmc/chevy frame with leaf springs. You can then use a 4x4 lift kit, but I'm honestly not sure if you could buy a 2wd with leafs rear AND front....anyone else have any ideas???

you should be able to use a fabtech system designed for a 73-up, just like swapping the 73-up crossmembers to get 5 lug & discs. i have wanted to do this for some time. fabtech has 6" lifts using springs, a-arms and spindles. i think a 72 prerunner would be super badass. here is a photochop i did (quicky) at work.

oh yeah, for the rear, a flip putting the axle on top of the trailing arms should do the trick to level things out! definately do this so i can live vicariously through you, since my wife is not for anoher project. and post pics!
