HELP needed PLEASE

Hey guys! After thinking about this for some time Im finally getting to it! Ive got a 67 2wd lwb truck that has the 67 style power steering (linkage mounted with the power cylinder) I am trying to upgrade to the newer system. My problem is Im not sure what all Ive got to change. Can somebody tell me if Ive got to change the control arm? My current pitman arm does not have a tapered stud on it,my stud comes from the control arm at the power valve or can I leave it as is and just swap pitman arms on the new power steering gear box. I sure will take any advice I can get. Thanks Todd

67 frames are different where the steering box mounts and must be dimpled to use later style power boxes. I believe there are also special kits for 67 and earlier trucks that adapt onto an unmodified frame but I could be wrong. Using a later style box with spacers ( as I've been told anyway) is supposed to reusult in twitchy unpredictable steering.

When I put PS on my 67, I got the steering box & left the pitman & drag link on. Made the job much eisier. But the donor I was scavanging was on its way to the crusher. FYI- my 67 gm didn't need to be dimpled. where the box bolts on, there's bumps in the frame already, so no clearence issues. I did have to notch the rad support bracket a bit, & the bumper bracket will need to be modified. It's a Canadian made truck, so I don't know if that's wy it's like that.
