Run-Away Starter
I replaced the bushings in my starter about 6 weeks ago, and put a new solenoid in it two weeks ago and it was going fine. But yesterday I was running errands and the strangest thing happened. I started the truck, but the starter just started spinning like crazy without engaging the engine. It was just stuck. Luckily I was at my local welder’s place and ran in for a wrench to undo the battery lead. What’s going on?

I am in the correct forum. I forgot to mention that I'm referring to my 1976 GMC Sierra Grande.

I took it apart for a cleaning and it works now. Have we always been that strict about which forum we use? I know that this would fit under Engine and Drivetrain, but where do you draw the line. The by-year forums get more visitors so I was hoping that I'd get more answers.
