heater optional in 67????

OK, what gives?
Another member has a 67 with delux heater listed in his glove box. From his screen name, I assume it is a 67.
67 was supposed to be the first year that it was standard...so what gives?
There are no listings for an optional heater, A/C is the only option as far as climate controls go.
Anyone seen this...anyone have one like this...???

Never seen one but seems like when I first joined someone was selling the block off plates for the outer and inner holes, it also seems like the build manual mentions it in the 67 section but i my have dreamed this...... Harold

All 4 67's I've seen at the junkyards have had the heater in it, and it wasn't on the glovebox sticker.

I always thought that heaters were optional in the 67's and standard in the 68's and later. I know that they are standard in 68's and that you could delete the heaters in the 68's at least.

My 67 Custom Features and Accessories brochure lists; Thrift heater and defroster, Deluxe heater and defroster as well as "All weather" Air conditioning.

I think that they could be factory or dealer installed. That would explain why some heater equipped 67's don't have them listed on the glove box.

It would be prolly a States only thing anyway...cause they'd be crazy not to sell a truck up here without a heater...

I tossed the glovebox door cause it was junk, but I remember one of the very few options my truck had listed was the heater. It was a completely plain jane 67. It's a SC truck. But I do agree with guyryan100, maybe the deluxe part was the option, because has anyone ever seen a truck with a cover plate where the control unit goes, or a cover plate where the heater core goes?? I've seen plenty of 67's and ALL have had heaters in them.

I too have the top, 'delux' and it's listed as one two options that my truck came with - that and HD coils.

Anybody have the more basic type?

My 66 3/4 ton had a deluxe air heater listed as an option, and so did my 67 panel. Here's the glovebox sheet off of my panel (my cam takes damn good zoom pics at night....I'm impressed with it for once) :

My 67 has the original glovebox sticker in it and also lists the 4C42CA Deluxe Air Heater option. It's the second item on the list under the Panoramic Cab option.

so, next time I get embroiled in some thread about closing off cowel vents I'll refer to the GM sticker about "outside air to reduce window fogging". I knew I wasn't crazy,, the voices told me so!

It's a Sony Cybershot 5.0 Megapixel. That was at full optical and full digital zoom, from maybe a foot away. I've never seen optical zoom that actually worked worth a darn, so I was really impressed.

You know you have a no option truck when the glovebox (which I can't read the writing, but it only has about 4 lines. Obviosly my 70 has a heater. The only option I can make out on the glovebox sticker is HD clutch.

After reading this I went out and looked, it's on the box door and the original order sheet. 04C4CA, Deluxe-air heater. It will de-fog most of the front window in about 1/2 hour if your sitting still and not breathing to hard. I just drive around with a towel in my gearshift hand. Thermosat.... we don't need no stinkin' thermosats!
