This is what WAS keeping me from my chevy !

I bought this for myself to fix now that the wife saw it this far she wants it for herself . Oh well , i guess i will have to milk it for all its worth ." I just want to have a nice ride to" i told her . This thing got wacked pretty dam hard probably the biggest job i have done yet . should be ready for the painter by next week . Sorry its not a chevy but it does have a 5.9 Ltr 360 and heated seats . I will have about 2800.00 into it if the painter doesnt hurt me on the work . thanks for letting me ramble , i get pretty gealous seeing all the work you guys are getting done lately .

metal work

I love nothing more than to take a sawzall to a truck and just chop it up ! The hard part is piecen them back together . I must admit when i saw the pictures i thought i was crazy (I never looked at them when i took them ) I find it very intreuging to find out just what holds these trucks together , call me crazy but what can i say it sure was fun .

thats some nice work. a friend of my dads bought a @$$holed lexus GS430, cut the back end off at the rear window pilliars and welded a new rear clip back on. he is also a painter so he didnt get killed there either. IIRC he is into the whole car 4000 bucks, and you cant even tell what he did.

5.9 Limited....Those are sweet.. I have driven quite a few of them and they are pretty quick. I heard that the rear ends have a problem of staying together. You heard anything of the sort?

rear end problems

Yes i do believe the all have rear end problems its just that the ones with the 360 brake mone ofter beacause of the power . I realy dont thing there is any difference in the rears for all the motors except maybe gearing . I drove this before it was recked and it was alot of fun , almoust as fun as my shortbed dackota with the 318 . sorry to get off the chevy subject i will always love the more .

Nice Job c-1072. I'm assuming you have some bodywork background to tackle a project like that???

were you able to get some good used parts for the doors/rear gate? - what about the quarterwheelhouses used clip or did you get a new one? have to do anything to the floor?

i'm just curious cause i'm a damage appraiser for an insurance company and that is the stuff i look at all day long - and if it was me i would have said..."yep it's totalled"

nice job on the reconstruction surgery. - how will the "salvage/rebuilt" title problem work in NY - do you have to have the veh. towed to a state inspection station???

Andy
P.S. - thanks again for the wheel - as soon as i put the column back in the truck i'll get a chance to see how it looks...it might be a while...

salvage title

Arkracing i do need to get it reinspected at the antitheft unit . i will just toss the old dealer plate on it . as far as the paperwork involved many are intimidated about it as long as you have the reciepts with the vin included you are ok or in my case i bought an 97 jeep wrecked in front and cut it up myself . I sold some parts off it to recoupe some money and this way the entire quarted panel i removed got cut where i wanted it to be cut . i have been toying with cars and trucks my whole life , never worked at a bodyshop though . As for what i replaced it was the entire rt side quarter inner and outer , outer rocker ect the only piece left was about 16" of the passenger rocker and winshield post .the floor was slightly damaged mostly in the rear . i just chopped the damaged pieces one at a time till i felt i removed the damared areas .
