84 GMC 4x4 for sale $500

Has a 305/700r4. I think that a rod is knocking in the motor. New towing cam in it (less than 300 miles on valvetrain). Needs new hubs, the automatic locking hubs are broke. The bar in front of the front axle is slightly bent, so that also needs to replaced to be correct. Still driveable. Body isn't the greatest, but it is a great work truck or a truck to play in the woods with. $500 firm. I am in New Philadelphia, OH. May be able to help with delivery some.

Thanks,

Travis

It is not all full time, it has the shifter 2H, N, 4H, 4L. I think that there is around 130,000 miles on the truck. 700r4 tranny, works and shifts fine, could use a filter change (have a filter kit in truck now). The motor is a new re-ring rebuild. I think that a rod is knocking, but doesn't really sound right, possible like a wrist pin knock or something. Motor may have 500 miles on it, cam and lifters, and timing chain have less than 300 miles.

Check it out when you get a chance. If they're better than 3.42, I might be interested.

I would just like to say that Travis is a very honest guy, you can trust and beleive him when he tells you stuff that's to the best of his knowledge.

I'm the guy who bought his 85 t top monte carlo ss clone. He's in new philly OH and I'm in Logan wv, and he drove all the way down here to bring me the car. He had to rent and a trailer and all so he's an honest guy big time.

I think he's a realy good seller and a good guy.

Is there a feedback forum on here for seller's and buyers? if so I'll post some good feedback for ya travis.

Thank you for the kind words Chris (benoit454). Hope you have fun with the monte, I will sure miss that car. I about cried when I was driving away from your house, LOL. Chris is also a very honest guy, sent me money for the delivery, but I didn't get to it till a few weeks later because of all the messed up weather. He didn't have a problem with that at all, very nice guy when I met him, very helpful.

Later,

Travis

You know the gear ? is a good one. I always heard ppl say how you can tell but I am not sure. How is it you tell a gear ration in the rear end or front end for that matter?

The easiest way is from the RPO code in the glove box (usually starts with a G) and then checking the chart.
The second easiest way (or if the sticker is missing) is to pull the 6-digit BOM code of the top of the right tube. Usually that code has to be deciphered by a dealer but somebody around here may have the knowledge.
The most difficult (and messiest) way is to pull the cover and count teeth.

You can get a good estimate of what it is by simply rotating the wheels and counting the driveshaft revolutions. I know that's been covered on this message board more than once, so I won't go through the process again.

count teeth on ring gear, count teeth on pinion gear, divide.
