Heater replacement hood ???

Any one have a trick to get the heater core out and the new brackets
installed with out takeing the hinge off?
It took soooooooooooooo long to get the hood right
I could mark it extra careful but I don't know.
How far forward does it have to go?

I feel your pain... I just had to do that one myself and I ended up taking the hinge off the fender after carefully marking it with masking tape.

I pulled the heater case out of my 70 w/o a/c. You can pull the whole case but you can't pull just the fan motor. It takes some doing but it can be done. Brian

I had to do it 3 times. There was something dead in it when I bought the truck, then a couple years later the core started leaking, and most recently I took it out again to paint the firewall behind it. I just gave up and took off the hinge.

If I'm not mistaken, I took off the inner fender on my '72. On my '69, the PO beat in the inner fender just enought to get the blower motor out
