Finally a Real One!!!!
Guys I know its not a chevy, but it's been one of my favorite cars ever. And I finally found one while at the inlaws house in Bellevue, WA. A real Shelby Cobra orignally purchused in 1966 by a school teacher. This thing even has the factory installed centrifugal supercharger by cobra. And Carroll had even autographed the dash for Authenticity. I have more pics ill post them later...Later Mike

Not very practical. There's no way you could bring home a 4x8 sheet of plywood with that.

I've seen some start at a quarter of a million.....
And if I had that, I wouldn't be worrying about hauling plywood....be long gone.

when i was 17 yrs old my dad told me about one[i grew up in N H].
it had never been in the snow or in the rain.had like [i really don't remember] low miles on it.it had 289hp in it.i never saw the car, but a guy he worked with had it. he didn't want but something like 2500-3000 for it.tried to talk dad into buying it for me, at the time i wasn't working so couldn't pay him back for it.this was back i 60's, i wish at times that i'da been able to get tho.[but i've been a chevy fan to long now to change] but they are nice cars.i saw one last year at daytona turkey rod run, this guy had.[said it was worth about 150,000. thats alota money but it's all about what you want.well enough said.[great board i love living here]. |

That is my all time most favorite dream car. I wouldn't care if it was real or a fiberglass fake one.
as for the 0 -100 - 0, it was claimed to be 13 seconds flat, but Shelby himself says he thinks that number is bogus. One of his workers took one out for some fun and came back with the claim. No witnesses, no proof...but the claim has stuck this long... I've loved those things since I was knee high. |

If that's an original Cobra with the blower, its a Paxton supercharger. Rated at 450hp, if I remember correctly. Andy Granatelli was the owner of Paxton at the time, sold them to Studebakeralso, was an option on Daytonas and Avantis.
