This may sound like a stupid question but my truck is in pieces and i didnt notice when it was together.

Does the front of the frame suport the front bumper at all?

The reason i ask is because i bought a front roll pan and im not sure i want to use it. It requires 2" of the frame to be cut off and im wondering if i dont like the looks of it if i can just reinstall the old bumper or if i'd be stuck with the rollpan unless i welded the frame pieces back on??

There is an L shaped piece that bolts to the top of the frame, at the front, to the bumper and then the bolt below that bolts directly from the frame to the bumper, so you do need the very front of the fame.....then the two side supports bolt to the side of the frame, near the front. CPNE said it much simpler....

If you have unbent frame horns, don't throw them away. Most are slightly bent from front end mistakes and don't line up with all the bumper holes, especially when you use a new bumper. I found a straight set on a junker and sawed them off in front of the core support bracket, then I bolted them to my front bumper along with the side supports so they wouldn't get lost. I'll use them to replace the bent ones on my gmc. My 70 chevy still has the bent ones, and the bumper isn't fun to take on and off.
