I HATE HATE HATE rattles... Ideas and comments preferred!

So, my doors sound like there is about 10 loose nuts and bolts at the bottom of each, and the rattling has reached a boiling point with me after I installed the 38s.

Basically, the inner/outer felts are shot, the channel liner is shot, and the metal door panels don't help any.

So, I need to work these doors a bit. The felts and channel liners are a given- and I have those on hand. It's more about the door panels.

I am not going to pay the astronomical price for dynomat, and it has to be weather proof since as soon as spring hits, the top will be off the Blazer ALL spring/summer/fall. I am really thinking about using rubberized undercoating...

Maybe shooting it in the doors, and on the back of the panels to minimize metal to metal contact. What do you guys think?

Have you removed the door panels and inspected the inside for debris? Cause if it's just the glass ratting, the felts and fuzzies will fix that. Maybe you'll find the loose nut the prev owner had behind the wheel.

2 weeks ago I found a brake pedal and mirror backing plate in mine, lol. It seems to be common to find crazy stuff in these old truck doors. Pull the panel and look.

First thing I would do would be to remove the 10 loose nuts and bolts, that outta quiet things down a bit! j/k, my door panels had some weird looking white foam stuff behind them. I'm pretty sure it was factory. It was about 1/2" x 1/2" strips. That seemed to keep things pretty quiet. I then decided 72 panels would look really good in my 67...I don't have any sound problems with them...plastic on metal much quieter! Also, make sure you have the foam thingys that go behind the panel around the door and window regulator, that helps too! I was thinking of trying the undercoating inside the door myself....only couple bucks a can at Wally-World!!! Let us know if it helps.

I used roofing mastic, $100 for a 100 ft roll at the roofing supply house. Sell some of it to your buddies & actually make money, the bumpin guys love it, 100 ft goes a loonnng way. Sticky as hell on one side, looks just like Dynamat, black. Mine is called Miradri brand. It is amazing the difference in the door panel noise. I did the floors, behind the tank etc. Brian

I doubled up an inner tube I had, and put it behind the door panels in an S-10 I built. It quietened down the rattle A LOT

First thing I thought of was the original mirror backing plate as well.Mine rattled and I found the plate in the bottom of the door when I went exploring.(P.O. had changed mirrors at some point).

The weather stripping will help a lot.The doorpanels aren't as big a problem as the felts prolly.
Mine has some foam also, looks like the weatherstrip they use on home doors, that's sticky on one side.It kinda makes a circle around the doorpanel.Might give that a try.

I found a window track, door handle, and several nuts and screws. It is a collection spot apparently
