Is it difficullt to remove and install vent window assemblies? I may have access to a parts truck with good ones.

If your truck has a nice paint job it's hard to not chip the paint, I would suggest putting tape on the top edges of the door, but the actual removal/install is fairly easy.

If your like me, I would use the "parts truck" to practice removing and installing a couple of times, will save you from scratching the paint on "your" truck. I don't R&R the vents enough to remember

gotta pull the handles and door panel, then gotta pull your window, then a few bolts and screws and the wing is out. i will tell you that the wing window part is easier than the regular window part

Once you get into it, it's pretty straightforward it just takes some time and patience. Just pay attention when you are taking the old ones out. It would be a good time to replace all of the weatherstrip in the doors while everything is out. It does make it easier if you loosen up the rear guide channel then remove the channel weatherstrip. It will give you room to sideglass back to get the vent windows in and out.

Here is my experience with wing windows, cause I just had my truck painted and its a pain not fun, (thank god the shop is going to fix my goofs for free) after masking the whole door channels with 2x or more masking tape, pull the inside felt channel seal out up from the bottom to the middle of the door, unbolt the regulator and vent window, move the window and regulator back as much as you can, then the vent will come up and out of the door, ensure you mask the outside of the door as well as the inside ledges, after creating some new curse words to the english dictionary you will get the hang of it. If you are doing the whole door from scratch the window has to be in first before installing the vent window.....

Not to highjack the thread, but I bought a set of vent window handles and they look a little hard to put in. Has anybody attempted just the handles?
