fuel cell ?
Has any one put a fuel cell in the bed of a truck, how did you mount it.I was thinkin about boxing my back frame rails and gettin some tubing and puttin it in the back, and putting a plate across the frame to mount it, were zing the frame so there is no place for it to hang under at all, I was thinkin the jegs 16 gal, no foam, with a 0-90 ohm sending unit is that enought, ive never messed with any gas tanks and not alot of gas lines so im kinda in the dark.

I have a fuel cell..but it's between the rear frame rails. I think your best bet is to contact Bagged81, because his truck is bagged and his fuel cell is in the bed.

If you really want to run a cell, have a custom built aluminum or steel unit built. The plastic tanks will sink, leak and look like crap. I had a 16 gal. cell that never saw daylight except for the occasional weekend trip out and it still sagged in the center.

I mounted it in the bed. A buddy sold a prostreet '55 and his was mounted in the trunk, it sagged in the middle as well. If the companies could build some support in to them, they would be fine.

I found a Aluminum cell from summit for 25 more bux, RCI-2151AS, It has a 0-90 OHM G.M style sending unit, a natural finish, and it's 15 gallon. $175.99 for the price you can't beat that, my luck it'll probly be a pos thought

I have a similar unit from Summit Racing (16-gallons, foam filled, 0-90ohm GM sending unit, and powdercoated black) and it is of high-quality. I'll be mounting mine behind-the-axle in a custom frame. ![]()
