I sell all of Roddoors Products. If it is on their webpage I can get it even if it isn't for a truck, I just don't have everything on the website.
They can be painted, and they mount just like the factory ones do, bolted to the kick panel. bigblock73 has a pick of them "mocked up" somewhere... Hotrodhomi, the kick panels are 64.99 + shipping: http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com/merc...y_Code=7387INT

Roddoors kick panels
Roddoors kick panels WILL NOT work with Silverado style kick panels. You must use Cheyenne/Custom Deluxe style kick panels. Ask me how I know?
The emergency brake lever doesn't come close to clearing the speaker pod. Mine will need to be moved/bent at least an inch and a half. (This is without a speaker installed). I just love it when a plan comes together. |

Captkaos, the site says the kick panels will fit w/the emergency brake lever, 84 pumpkin says they won't. Will they or won't they? Does it depend ont he year of your truck? So these kick panels have bolt holes in the same place as stock, no drilling required? If I buy, can I send you payment or...?

They have no holes drilled in them. They come with velcros (don't know how to spell it) strips to attach them. I plan to drill holes in mine and attach them with the original screws. The emergency brake lever on my 1984 Chevy C10 Silverado truck WILL need to be moved/bent. Yours could be different.
These panels are well made. Roddoors has great customer service and fast shipping. The only REAL problem that I had was they didn't fit my Silverado kick panels. I went junkyardin' and twenty bucks later I had some Custom Deluxe upper kick panels and I was good to go. They fit like a glove. |

Just tried the Roddoors kick panels in my '79 Cheyenne K10.
Fit like a glove but the emergency brake lever doesn't clear on it either. |

Velcro? I assume its fairly strong stuff its supposed to support the weight of a speaker? BTW, what speakers are you going to install pumpkin?

I don't use my emergency/parking brake either so it's not an issue with me. hotrodhomi I have several pics of these kick panels mocked up in both of my trucks. I can't seem to post them here. I'll be happy to email them to you. benscool1 It's velcro alright. This stuff is pretty strong. I saw a 200 pound man put on a Velcro jumpsuit and jump into a Velcro wall and he stuck like a bug on a windshield. I'm still going to attach my panels with screws. The speakers are going to be the next thing on my list. I plan to use a grille on mine and 6.5" speaker grilles are not created equal. Then the mounting depth must be considered before I make a final choice. Those 3.5" speakers under the dash pad are lookin' better by the minute. |

This is the easiest way, PM me if you have questions. 84 PUMPKIN Although you didn't get them from me, do you want to do a tech article on these for my site? Up to you.

Hey, I can't believe I missed this thread. I did buy the kick panels from Chris, and am happy with them. I have not installed my speakers yet, but the fit and finish appears to be good. You can velcro them on, but I am going to screw mine on like factory ones...all I need to do is use my old panel as a template...they are exactly the same size.
FYI - a 6.5" speaker will be real tight to fit in these, you would be better off with a slightly smaller speaker. Also, be sure to get the depth of the speaker and possibly the magnet diameter to ensure the speakers you have will in fact fit. I can get dimensions off mine if you guys want. Chris, you still owe me a phone call. :p

I got rid of my Roddoors kick panels so I probably wouldn't be the best person to do a tech article on them. low84 I purchased some Q-logic panels and I'm much happier with them. The price of the Q-logic panels had always been the big issue with me but there's a guy on ebay that sells them for $80.00. The extra $15.00 is WELL worth it in my opinion and they are available in five colors. |

The ones you bought were the custom fit kick panels($80), not the universal fit kick panels($53)? He doesn't have pics of them so I'm not sure which one I need.

I purchased two sets of the custom fit models.
The ones that fit our trucks are QL-K1006B followed by numbers which indicate the color. QL-K1006B01 = Black 08 = TAN 10= red 14 = gray 39 = blue Go to the Q-logic website and make sure I'm correct before you purchase them. Their website is airesearch.com |
