Certifit Auto body parts

Has anybody used parts from this company? I just ordered a new fender through the local NAPA and they use this company as a parts supplier and said they hadn't had any complaints. I got the fender for $109 plus $15 freight charge. They have stores/warehouses all over the country.

Anyway, I'm hoping for a good fit. The last time I got a repro fender (about 15 years ago) the fit was aweful.

Not a truck but...
A few years ago a co-worker hit a deer with his '95 Mercury Tracer (Ford Escort). My daily driver is a '94 Escort so I was asking him about his parts because my 220,000 mile hood is rusting at the seams from 11 winters of a constant salt bath.

To make a long story short about a year after he installed the Certifit hood it looks like somebody jumped up and down on it. The thin metal simply started contorting.

Based on my single observation I'd stay away.

You get what you pay for with sheet metal. I've had no luck with certifit.

I'm not one to knock someone or a company so I will say this. Certi-Fit sells "Crash Parts". They are designed for the average "Joe" that doesn't care about fit/finish/minor dings, dents, ripples or what ever. They just want an uncrashed/rotted part. I personally have used Certi-Fit for other projects and have been 85-90% satisfied but I also know what I am buying and I do open EVERY box before I take my parts.

If you are looking for a restoration quality part, go and get your money back and contact one of our many reputable board vendors who will gladly stand behind their parts.

BTW, that fender is listed in the Certi-Fit catalog for $75.75(shop price) & $98.48(list price).
