I need to know who has the best pricing for rear disc brakes kits for my 63 suburban. Any help. I don't need the emergency brake since the frame is my ebrake.

I have this kit from TSM ....I haven't installed it yet...it uses 78-83 Monte calipers or 79-85 Eldorado calipers if you want e-brakes. If I remember correctly, they use redrilled Lincoln discs. I found generic cailper brackets on a 4 wheel drive site if you are interested in fabbing your own kit...let me do some checking and see what if I can find them again.

I want a complete kit...I don't want to peice it together. Something like what classicperform.com offers. Was wondering if there are any other cheaper KITS

Looking at the pic on CP's site, they look like the same kit. TSM can supply you with a complete kit without ebrake for around $400.

so what are all of these abbreviations? i'm looking for a non ebrake kit for my 71. rumor had it i could use 71-87 4x4 front calapers in place of the elderado calapers. info/websites?

I'm curious about the same thing. Shev what are you installing the rear kit on? Let us know how it goes. Are you going to get a new brake proportioning valve. I here once you change to rear disk, you need to adjust the brake preasures. Willwood?

I bought the kit for my '72 burb...I bought the kit prolly 3 years ago and still haven't installed it. It's supposed to be a bolt on deal (instructions are on the TSM website for each kit). When I ordered the kit I questioned the guy from TSM (very friendly guy and took the time to talk to me) about whether a new proportioning valves was needed using the stock disc/drum master cylinder. He basically told me to install the kit and see if it's needed or not. If you have a problem they carry both residual and proportioning valves. I'm going to get my ass back in the garage to get my bags and the rear brake kit installed, but it won't be on the road til the spring. I was going to talk to Jason at Suicidedoors to see if he could pop out some brackets, if anything pans out I'll let you guys know....

Rear Disc Kit - Complete

$239, $259, or $279

Excellent kit and a VERY low cost. I guy I work with has a brother that put these on his 67 Nova wagon. He says put them on the brackets, use your air compressor to blow air in so they squeeze the pads on the rotors, and weld the bracket.

SIMPLE AND NOT EXPENSIVE.

hey all,

got an update for ya.

i was looking through my pile of service manuals for varius vehicals and i found a rear brake system that might work for our trucks. the brake setup is found on chevy caprice's, camaro's and firebird's built around 94-96. i need to go to the junk yard to get my hands on a set but it should work. i'll let you know.

p.s. brackets from a 77-79 cadillac deville will also work.
