Ahhhhh...the memories!

As I was sorting through my dearly departed Grandfather's garage, I came across the packaging from this 1977 B&M Shift Kit that my Dad and I had installed many moons ago in a 1973 Nova I had in high school. It was sun-faded in the upper-left corner...but otherwise the colors were still nice. The instrictions, and the old parts were still in the package as well. I thought maybe some of you Blazer fans would get a kick out of seeing it.

The think the last picture would make a cool avatar...so any of you Blazer (or mid-70's Camaro) fans feel free!

Thanks for the thought about my Grandfather. I miss him alot. He was a Boilerman and mechanic for the Railroad before WWII, a mechanic (Fireman 1st Class) in the US Navy in WWII, a auto mechanic for many, many years, and did a stint as a 'Diesel Instructor' at Nashville Auto-Diesel College back in the 1970's. A real wrench turner! He was also trained in fixing big, commercial Air Compressors...as well as many other mechanical things.

If it had pistons....he knew how it worked, and why...and luckly for my Father and I, he shared his knowledge, tools, time, and most of all, his love with us. Included in my treasured memories of him are the cool things he built and fixed for/with me as a child. Sleds, bicycles, minibikes, motorcycles, and cars. He was also a Baptist minister for many, many years. What I really admired about his mechanical ability was that he was a 'problem solver' and 'fabricator'.....if he needed something, he could visualize the solution, and make it himself.

As his only Grandson, I have inherited his lifetime of tools, manuals, ect. Included are such things as Motor Manuals (going back to the 1940's), a special set of tools for rebuilding Flathead F*rd engines (still in it's original box!),...and some other really unique things. I treasure this stuff more than if it were gold and silver. These were the tools that fed our family....and helped create 3 generations of beautiful memories.

Sorry to have gone on so long.....like I said, I miss him a lot....
