Suspension ride

I have an 86 gmc, and i was wondering how i could make it ride better without spending an arm and a leg.(the rear end comes off the ground when i go over a speed bump).

not much on suspension but try checking the shocks might need new ones also a rear sway bar could help

Did you lower the rear. If you did you probably need a c-notch and shorter shocks, basically you are bottomed out on the snubbers and shocks, so when you hit a bump it bucks instead of soaking it up. If you didn't lower it the spring rate could be too stiff, you can soften it up by removing one leaf at a time till you are satisfied. The draw back is if you have a hot motor you will get alot of wheel hop without a set of traction bars.
