Whats the difference?

Hello all I am new here. I so glad I found this message board. Is there any difference in the frames from 67-72 between the short box and long box other than length? What about the difference between a 1/2 and 3/4 ton is it just suspension?

Thanks
Brad

Depends on whether it's leaf or coil spring suspension. They are diff. from each other but length is the only diff. on wheel base I think.

Welcome to the board from South Mississippi!

3/4 and 1/2 ton frames are the same if memory serves.
Length is the only difference asuming you are compairing coil frame to coil frame...or leaf to leaf.

67 frame is'nt dimpled for a power steering box and tranny crossmembers are different depending what tranny came from the factory.

I ment to say something about the 67 frames...thanks for the reminder there gonebad2.
The 67 frame as said above is not dimpled for the power steering, (as are the early 68's) and they also are not set up for big blocks. I think the frame is widened under the hood in 68 (not 100% sure though) and there is also a spot on the passenger side about 8 inches back from the radiator that is 'flaired' up for fuel pump clearance on the bigger engines.
