Replacement Body Panels?

Hey, Just wondering if anyone has had good or bad experiences with aftermarket body panels. Which manufacturers have the best fit? Who do I definatley need to stay away from? etc. I will probobly be buying quite a few body panels in the next couple of months and just wanted to get some opinions before doing so. Stuff like hood, inner and outer fenders, radiator support, bumpers and possibly complete doors. etc. The only experience I have is with an ABP fender I bought for my 92Z and the fit was horrible, edges were very rolled and unfinshed. I was told they sell Goodmark parts if specified but I have yet to find out. Thanks, jt

PS: Price is important as well, but not to the point where I will sacrifice fit or finish.

I bought repop inner fenders from some vender at carlisle. Can't remember who, but I paid $100 for the pair and they fit excellent. I plan on buying some tri plus front fenders. Also, does anyone know of anyone who sells patch panels for stepside fenders? I was lookin at my truck real close this weekend and she has some pitting where the fender/step meet and a few pinholes. I'd rather cut it all out and replace it. Otherwise, new fenders are 380 bucks each and I would have to weld up the turn signal hole for my 67.

Thanks for the link. Original parts arent an option considering I am in the middle of the rust belt. So do any of our vendors/board sponsors carry the tri-plus/goodmark parts? They seem to be the more popular reproduction parts.

most all of the vendors here carry them. christian`s classics is in tn. and athey`s truck parts is in va. they aren`t too far from you. i have a set of outer fenders for sale right now and can deliver them to you, let me know if you need them.

So the fenders you have are the tri plus fenders? I know they are "NEW" but is there anything wrong with them such as dents dings etc? what are you looking to get for them?

they say gordon on them. i checked into them with a vendor and they are the same as tri-plus, and goodmark but i guess they are the less tolerant of the bunch. i really don`t know exactly, but i had them fitted on my truck and they fit perfectly (i wish i had pics now) they were $215 apiece new if you want to check the price they`re at 615-226-9090. i know i got robbed but this was about 4 years ago and i didn`t know better. i also spent $30 and just sprayed them with 2k primer. i would meet you in bowling green ky. for no gas money if you want them, i`m asking $250.

Chevye, If you were closer I would probably pick them up from you for $250 but bowling green is a good drive from here. If everything goes alright with the cab I am trying to get in murray Ky I may be driving through that area and could probably meet you there. It all just depends if everything falls into place...jt

gutterman eh, tim is a good guy to deal with. been there a couple times, he`s really reasonable on prices too. i might see if he has a front end i still need too. if you have any partial trades i might do a deal for ya. i might even scoot the fenders to ya for $220 if your really serious. i don`t need them, they`re just sitting.

Yeah, I may be picking up the cab from Gutterman. He said he would be out of town until thurs so I wont really know anything until Thurs or Fri. For $220 you definately have my attention. I'm all for anything that saves me money. Cant really think of anything to trade. Murray Ky is roughly 270 Miles from me so it would be an all day event to get there and back.........................jt
