T400 Tech. Question for Transmisson guru's
Hi there,
I had my 1972 T400 trans. rebuilt and I have ran into a small snag. When I purchased the truck it did not have the kickdown wiring harness. I managed to locate a factory harness for it through eBay. My question is... On the harness it has a 2 terminal plug for the pressure switch. However my transmission has a single terminal pressure switch. My service manual states that "On the two terminal plug one is the pressure term. and one is a detent terminal. It also says that on CM model it only has the detent terminal" I am thinking of replacing the plug on the harness because if the pressure switch was incorrect my transmission guy would most likely have found it to be incorrect. Can someone shed some light on this for me Thanx Curt

I think it may be best to start from scratch & make your own harness to avoid any confusion.
Im not sure exactly where the circuit gets its power from but it should only have current when the key is in run. try tapping into a empty terminal on the fuse box, then run to the kick down switch. then to the terminal on trans & viola!
