Hooking Up Stereo Today Have a question.

Ok IM installing my Pioneer CD player today I am not real confident with figuring out the wireing to use to hook it up.

Where on the fuse block do I hook up the always hot?

Where do I hook up the the ignition on wire?

Thanks guys I never even thought of this and have everything ready to go I thought I had a plan but I guess not.

you should have a switched 12v wire in you factory radio harness. You will have to run a wire to the fuse box for the constant 12v wire. There should be an open terminal on there that you can plug in to. You can use a multimeter or a test light to check the wires. I believe the switched wire will be yellow.

exactly what he said just make sure you put an inline fuse in any wire hooked to power... there should be several places in the fuse box you can just use a spade connector to pop into the fuse box

Switched on pioneer is red known as ACC wire. Yellow is the BATT wire constant 12v. You should have these in your dash. You can tap into the cig light wire for your 12v constant if you have one there.

Also if you are using factory circuit wires they will already be fused. Most all pioneer units after 2000 or so have a fuse 10amp built into the unit above the harness plug in. If you have these there is no reason to add additional fuses inline.

Well thannks to everyone here I got the whole stereo installed no probs at all. I found the wires I needed in the old factory wireing under the dash even though it was all chopped up. I replaced some wires and got rid of some old crap (old cb and stereo)

Works like a charm.

I have a Pioneer DEH-6 deck
2- MTX 8" subs behind the seat
2-4way Pioneer 6X9's in the doors (holes were allready cut)
Kicker 75.2 AMP running the subs

Sounds pretty good need to tune the deck and amp. I put the amp under the seat.

Thanks again to everyones help.
