Stuck On 67-72/New Breeds
I`ve always liked old trucks, big`n`small. It didn`t take long for GMs to become my favorite, for a number of reasons.I love the looks and character of the pre-war trucks. The Advanced Designs are so cool`n`cute(chicks dig`em)I can`t stand it.They made two styles the year I was born(can you guess my age?).I want both! The Task Masters got the style of the "tri-5s" that is sooo 50s.The Apaches grabbed that 60s "custom-style" as much as the cars of the time and lead us into the "pony car/muscle car" era that then was taken over at the "height" in 67 by the New Breed.I love them all,and want at least one of each.I started out owning a`72 as a comprimise for it`s practicallity and "just-as-modern" as new qualities. As cool as the earlier trucks were,I needed one vehicle to do everything, like get me to work, wherever that may be.It was 1973 and I just thought these trucks were cooler.Well,32 years later, there`s still always one in my driveway(or 2,3,or 4).I have yet to own another(earlier)body-style truck. Now that these are "antique",I`m hoping I`ll be able to own an oldy some day.

Well, I'lle start off by saying that I'lle guess you were born in 1955... What do I win?
![]() I haven't had any of the pre-67 trucks(although I keep finding them and I have the itch). I actually haven't owned a 67-72 pickup but I have a couple friends with them. I liked the Burb's for some strange reason, guess that's why I currently have 2 1/2 of them(one of them rotted half away so that's the reason for the half). I have had a 73 C10 LWB, 75 C20 LWB, 76 C30 3+3 Crewcabdually, 78 K5, 81 K10 LWB an 87 C10 SWB, 88 K2500 ExCabLB & a 91 GMC C1500. While I liked all of them, there is something about the 67-72 trucks/burbs/blazers that is just, well, captivating to say the least. Guess that's why I like them so much. Guess I like the burbs because you don't see them around here either. Plenty of pickups and a few K5's but no Burbs.

My 67 is my second, and in high school I had a 72 long fleet. I have had an itch for them scence my Dad ran truck and tractor pull with a 700hp 69 long fleet 1ton 4x4. That was the coolest truck! Then a friend had a 67 short fleet 4x4 with a 8in lift and 38in Dick Cepecs. I plan on building 4 more 67s, a fiberglass drag toy, a ext cab short bed (for my wife), a twd pre runner, and a 4x4. All after I get the Elky restored and the 67 done.

It is a fever that who wants to chill down? I use my trucks year round and yesterday I
picked up 50- 50LB bags of grain and the guy was freaking that it did not even settle the lifted beasts springs. It did ride a lot better however!

I've had 4 now and loved every one of them. 3 72's and now a '68. I'm sure this one won't be my last.
