I like the 130 mph speedo, the 7k tach and the position of the clock but I guess I'm not really wild about the tach and fuel guage trading spaces.

Looks pretty good. I think 130 mph in one of these trucks would be scarier than those flying monkeys in "The Wizard of Oz" though! Didn't someone on the board have the voltmeter conversion done by this guy?

This guy has a volt gauge to fit in the stock cluster and that is something I really want to know more about.

I emailed this guy about a price for a 54 Chevy gauge set, he was a bit rude and said "I don't give email prices. To much to talk about and to little time", and gave a long distance phone number. Might be wrong, but I'd watch this guy. Greg

i think that's exactly how the cluster should have been from the factory. Fuel gauge and tach switched, and why not put a clock in the usually blank spot on the cluster? I do think 130mph is a little far fetched for our trucks though.

Don't know about 130 being so far fetched. Think big block and 3.08 gears. I'll never vouch for a friends speedometer but back in the late 70s he claimed we were hitting 130. He in a 429 SCJ Torino and me with the 71 402. All I can say is the needle stopped moving and it was plenty quick, especially for being a dumb kid. No chance I'd even try it now.
Nice guage set though but too spendy for me. |

It sure is funny that he did not show the back of the cluster so I could get an idea of how he did it but with the correct parts I am sure it could be duplicated. If anyone on the board buys it let me know I would like to check out the back of the dash to see how he redirected the circuitry on the board.

its not hard to get 130 outta one of these trucks and as long as the suspension and everything else is up to par its no more of an issue than with anything else. i know mine has been higher than that with just a really healthy small block and the 3.07 gears. wound up to 5500 rpm in third gear with a th350 with 3.07 gears on a 29 inch tire

The rude people at clock doc do have a website, it's shown in the pictures...... www.clockdoc.net. After I received their reply that they do not email prices, to much to talk about & to little time, I replied that I did not want to pay for a long distance call to people who do could not answer simple question by email, he replied "good riddance to bad rubbish". BEWARE!!!! Greg

I don't know why anybody would think $500 is up there yet. First off it looks 100% better than the stock dash. The layout is just the way it should have been. Secondly it is a Speed minder/Tach/ with clock. You will usually pay 250 to 300 for the speed minder and 200 to 250 for the tach and it will look 35 years old.
My guess is he is looking for $850 to $1000 for that dash. If he is as big a d-i-c-k as he sounds from the above post he wont have to worry too much about making a fortune. There will be knock-offs out there within the year for half as much.
