Randy, thanks for the pics. Looks great, nice way of showing the "TOW HOOKS", heh ? I will be ordering the same cabinet probably tomorrow when I get home from work or Thursday at the latest. Should come in really handy when I start the restore on my '71 Chevelle SS. Hope the compressor I have will carry it all right. 7HP, 60 Gal, Vertical tank, 12.3 CFM @ 40 PSI and 10.3 CFM @ 90 PSI. Literature from the company says 3 - 5 HP compressor, and air supply from 7 - 20 CFM at 80 PSI.

Hey Randy,
What size IR compressor you got there? Been kind of looking, does it keep up good? two stage? cfm? My old 5hp 60 gallon Sanborn just can't keep up...debating whether to buy a smaller unit and hook the two together, or buy a bigger one. Later, Gord |

72Gord, I used to build those darn 60 gallon Sanborn compressors! My advice is to buy the best 2 stage you can afford with the CFM you need.

burb....not sure what cfm I need, would like to be able to run a da sander or smaller sand blaster without having to stop and wait all the time. Any suggestion would be appreciated, all the people selling them just tell you what they have is just what you need!!

Gord, its 80 gallon, 5 HP, 11.8 hp, 175 psi max, 15.8 cfm. It kicks on quite a bit it seems, but I don't know for sure because this is my first one I've ever had.

That compressor and blast cabinet look nice Randy. I think you are going to need more room soon.....

Randy,
Ordered my blast cabinet today when I got home from work. Should be here Tuesday or Wednesday next week by UPS. Looking forward to playing with it and using it to restore my Chevelle. Tech I talked to on the phone said my 7 HP Comp. single stage should do fine, may have to change to the smaller nozzle but should do fine.

Randy, when I sand blast or da sand....my compressor never shuts off, and falls behind to the point I have to stop and wait for it to build up more air. It starts out with around 125psi and with continued use it just keeps dropping while running, I usually stop when it gets down to 55psi and let it build back up...what a pain in the butt!!
