tach
A friend just gave me an old Sun tach. The wires coming off it are red, black, green, and white. I assume the red is for power and the black is ground. Which wire is for the tach and which one is for the light?? It also has a zero correction slide switch in the back. How do I verify the correct position??

does the slide switch say "4 6 8"?? That's the # of cylinders the motor has. 4 for 4 banger etc.... Thats the only "switch" on the back of my sun pro tact.

Nope, there is a 4,6, and 8 cylinder switch in addition to the zero correction slide switch.

Thanks for the info guys. I will hook it up and hopefully there won't be too much variance from one position to the other. I'm hoping it will be less than 100rpm from one side to the other.
