junkyardjohn; I have a 2wd NV4500 I might be selling. Depends on if I can work out a deal on a 4x4 version a friend of mine has. I don't know of a way to ship it though.

Actually the bellhousing pattern I was talking about is where the trans bolts to the bell. I should've been more specific. I know the dodge nv4500 and the 96-up chevy nv4500 has the same bell to trans bolt pattern. Just wondering if the nv5600 is the same.

John, call Standard Transmission. They have a website too.
I've been using those guys for 14 years now for all of my hand shaker trans needs. They specialize in NV4500 and NV5600 transmissions. They are on the up and up. Since they're local, I drive over to the shop when I buy a gearbox from them. Great shop, clean, reputable. You can trust them.

The nv4500 won't bolt up to the older 3-4 speed bellhousings. But the bellhousing for the nv4500 will bolt to any "normal" older small/big block. Hmmm.. does that make sense?
Let me try again, The nv4500 has 2 different trans to bellhousing patterns, neither of which is the same as the older 465 trans. 92-95 external hydro slave cylinder (bigger trans to bell pattern than the 465) 96-up internal hydro throwout bearing.(same trans to bell pattern as the dodge nv4500) Both styles of the nv4500 bell will bolt to any normal small/big block chevy engine. nv4500 does uses the same clutch setup as the old 465, (10 spline, 1-1/8in input shaft) Advance adapters makes a bellhousing that has the mechancal clutch linkage and the correct bolt pattern for the nv4500 but it's just a tad spendy IMHO. $375 or so.
