Is this part of 72 emmision system?

This is hanging lose in a 72 I am parting out, My other 72 doesnt have one.

I believe '71 and '72 had the charcoal canister and sealed gas cap to collect gas fumes rather than venting them to the atmosphere. I believe the heavier duty trucks did not have the charcoal canister, yet.

There was a hose on the available port that went to the carburetor.

Most or all 71/72's had canisters and vent lines that ran inside the cab on the passenger side up into the cab corner, these are ECC systems trucks......you can tell by the inside fuel neck having an overflow tube on the neck......
