looking for wheel trim rings
Looking for chrome trim rings for my factory 16.5 wheels. I have the center caps, and am looking for a decent set of ( beauty rings) as some people call them.Stainless or chrome.I also wondered if 16" rings would fit a 16.5 rim.

I recently bought some trim rings for 16 inch rims, and was rather suprised to discover they will not fit 16.5 inch rims.

hey mike, not your fault ,If I get stuck with them I will just try to resell them.Hey longhorn man, are you sure the 16" trim rings wont fit the 16.5? It really makes sense that they would'nt fit I guess.

Yeah, I am 100% positive.
I have those exact same rings, just got off another board member. I went to install them on my truck and they didn't fit the back wheels. I had my 2 spares on the rear while I was getting tires mounted on my 16 inch rims. The difference was rather suprising honestly. One thing you may consider, the 16.5 inch street tires are getting more expensive by the day. If you haven't bought any lately, look at the prices and limited selection. I avoided this whole problem with getting later model steel rims and painting them white. (Thanks longhorn jeff!) The back spacing isn't quite right, and the wheels are tucked in a bit too much, but I'll take that over not being able to afford new tires. Here is a pic of the trim ring on the 16 inch rim with the new tires mounted...got them off a class A motorhome...the tread is like a mile deep, and michilins seem to last forever (my right foot not withstanding) they are tall too, help overcome the 4.10's in the rear. (31 inch tall LT235/85R16) The other pic kinda shows the too much backspacing deal I refered to...later on when the truck is here and out in daylight, i can get a better pic as an example. |

Frank 16.5 wheels have a tapered bead, where 16" are straight. So I don't think there is any way they will fit. Good luck John
