is this my overheating problem???

i think i hopefully HOPEFULLY figured out why my truck is overheating...

i'm thinking its my radiator cap.
if i squeeze the top hose it will push air and stuff into the reserve tank.
if i squeeze it with my dads radiator cap on it, nothing will happen.

Try driving it with the other cap?

that very well could be it. it was the same way on my 4x4 when i bought it, the rubber seal that seals the cap to the radiator was almost completely gone. i don't have an overflow can it just goes on the ground but the system would just contiously overflow and not build pressure. the cooling system needs to be able to build a certain amount of pressure, this raises the boiling point of the coolant

well, at first the truck was running in the normal temp range, and then it started overheating again. and then it filled up my overflow tank...
