Ok I went to install the qjet and I ran into a problem with the throttle rod. PO must have changed it out when he put the holley on there. The problem is that the throttle rod was getting stuck on the kickdown switch plunger plate. I removed the plate for the time being and the problem is solved. If anyone has a 400 turbo with the kickdown switch mounted to the carb can you please post a pic? Also the metal fuel line that I bought on one end the nut is too big for the fuel pump. I had a short piece of metal tube with the correct size nut for the qjet so I hooked that up and then ran a 4 inch fuel hose to the other half of the old setup. Other than that the truck runs great with the qjet on there. I need to ajdust the timing and the carb a little.

Sounds like you've got a fuel pump with a 5/16 line outlet. If it has an adapter fitting between the pump and the line, you can change it to fit your 3/8 line. Otherwise, you'll have to change the pump. Unless your truck came with a 350-4bbl setup, it's probably got 5/16 line from the tank to pump. Depending on your engine and driving habits, 5/16 may be adequate. Just some things to think about. Frank

Well then I guess its off to the parts store to see if they have a reducer. If not then I will get a new fuel pump. How hard is it to install one of those?

I believe it is 5/16 all the way. I got a new fuel pump that has a 3/8 line for the carb and a 3/8 line for the tank. I guess that means I will have to convert it all to 3/8? Or is there a way I can work around this?
