While putting my front upper control arm shafts on my '72 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive, I noticed I am missing the "spacers" that go in between the shaft and the alignment shims. I checked with my local parts stores with no luck. My parts man at the Chevy store says the only part # he can find is for a van? Does anyone have the correct GM part # or know where I can buy these? I would like stainless if possible.

I don't have a PN or know where you can get them but if you don't locate what you are looking for, I can send you (4) good ones for $6 to your door.

I may be wrong, but wouldn't a good alignment shop have them? If the camber is wrong they need to remove/add shims, right? They are different thicknesses too. I'd call some local shops and see what they say.

are you talking about the washer like spacers that are flat on one side and convex on the other?????

I just did a quick look in the LMC catalog and they're in there. I'm sure some of the other vendors might stock them as well. I had mine powdercoated. I hate rust.

DALLAS 71 - Yes, that is the part I am looking for.
67REDNECK- I checked with the local alignment shops, they have the "shims" but no "spacers"
VINCE- I was hoping someone might have the GM part # or know a local parts store that has them.
JIM- I may do that if I can't find new ones.

Go to a NAPA store and ask them to look up body shims. I got some from them before. There's a part number for each different thickness of shim, so it's hard to come up with a part number.
