I am going to do a 4" suspension lift and also move the fuel tank to the rear. I have read that the filler neck is rather tight with the body at the stock mounts. I have also read that body lifts are not ideal in that they cause wear in the floor sheetmetal areas.
What is the real scoop and what is the right way to do this? Also I want the least amount of lift needed. 1" or 2" be enough, too much?
I am running 33's so the extra clearance will be nice too.
But be kind. I am old and jumping up too high could be bad.

I don't know how a body lift can cause wear on the floor sheetmetal. It is basically an extension of a body mount. Body lifts can be bought 1",2", or 3". I wouldn't put more than a 1" body lift on a nice truck.

Are You wanting the body lift because of the fuel filler?a 4 " lift is pretty good with 33" tires.I don't know anyone making a 1" body lift for 67-72.

True enough, you can even run 35's with a 4" lift, if you didn't do any hard wheeling.
For me 33's with 5" or 6" lift would look lost.

offroad design makes a 1" BL for 73 and up trucks, and their site says kits for other trucks are coming. Perhaps you could use it?

I got a 4" lift with 35 and have never hit the tire on the body. But the 6" lookes cooler with 35's.

ord's kit would work for about any framed vehicle. its just pucks and hardware you shouldn't need anything else for a 1" BL

1972. while it is an extension so to speak, it is not the same material. Most are hard plastics or aluminum. They rub and wear holes through the metal. I have read this and been told this but I have no first hand knowledge of it. That is why I asked. Who knows for sure?
Smokekiki, yes for the filler. I have seen where the inside of the bed had to be cut and a cover similiar to the Blazer/ Subs was put in the bed. I have also heard that the angle is very flat and hard to get lines on and fuel in. I thought that 1 more inch above the frame might be of some help with the sending unit and lines. Without looking too out of place. The suspension lift will get the frame and body up 4" and the body lift would only be 1". This would not be too severe and keep my 33's and 4:11's.
And I have a machine shop so I can cut any taller lift to anything I would need. I am thinking about buying urethane and making my own spacers. That way they are one piece, not a mount with an add on lift piece.
