Console: Look what we made....

During a TV show on Discovery we saw a guy working on an old Volkwagen Golf I
and he had this neat little console:

So we went to a junkyard and scored ourself one of these consoles because we thought it would fit nicely underneeth the dash of the truck.
And we were right, it bolds right up to the angled part of the dash.
All I had to do now was make someting to fill the gap between the original console, and the cab floor. Started with some cardboard to try it out
and ended up with this made of wood:

We covered it in vinyl....

All this under the supervision of our cat Longhorn!!

and now it looks like this:

And we added a few goodies:

We're not sure what we want with the hole in the front, maybe making it into a cupholder or something like that.
For now, the cat likes to use it

Will post pictures later once it is in the truck.

Well let me know what you think!

Cya,
Edmond

Looks great. Just goes to show when your at the Junk Yard It doesn't hurt to look at differnt makes & types of vehichles. Keep your mind open, you'll find good use for that space that cat is in. BTW if you use your heater, you might have to consider how the console will effect your lower vent.

Looking good Edmond. Are you planning a trip to a Salsa factory? I see the map of New York City !!!
See the big MO there too. Did you find me?
Kansas City, North on 29, 29 and 59 exit, 3 miles South. What kind of beer should I find?
Just got home. Son took the truck and had a 180 wreck on the highway. Mangled my truck and the trailer a little bit. Miracle he kept it right side up. Bobcat mashed the fenders on the trailer. Trailer got the bed pretty good.
No one hurt. The grandson says it was a wild ride. I will send you a pic.
