my 73s...

Here are the pics of my 2 73s. The first one I got almost 2 years ago now and was a total basket case, motor locked up 5 minutes after i got it, seriously. 2nd one I got on thanksgiving from rich-white, its rust free but doesn't have a motor or tranny. I've got a rust-free bed for it too.

BTW, the front was the only angle my orange 73 looked good in, lol. And I just noticed something else, those are the same front bumpers, i took the one off the orange truck and put it on the yellow one when I towed it home. And the chassis you see in the last pic is the chassis from the orange truck, my dad and i blasted, primered and painted it satin black, just over a year ago...just shows you how much I've gotten done...

Yeah, after a lot of persuasion from a few members I think I'm gonna start putting it back together and then drive it. Drive it for awhile and do stuff to it as I go and money comes along.

I think it was a 180 or so mile trip to Rich's place. Why do you ask? It wasn't too bad I didn't think even w/the truck we were driving lol.

Heres a few pics I took today, I reassembled the grille and lights today, I think it looks even cooler than I thought it would w/that billet grille, and don't worry, I AM going to put on a chrome bumper as soon as I find some cash for one. 2nd pic is of my Dad's new toy which I'm gonna use to wash off my chassis so hopefully I can tear the front end off and paint the chassis next weekend, and the last pic is of the #882 heads I'm going to clean up for my engine. Sorry if the pics are too dark, I took them right when I got home.

I was just wondering how close you were. There seems to be about 7 St. Louis people or so.

Have you considered painting your bumper silver for now? I guess finding a chrome one wouldn't be too big of a deal...

Yeah, I had thought about it but its not really a priority right now, I know it'd help the looks but I know of several people within a hundred miles or so w/a decent chrome front bumper, I just haven't had the $$$ for it yet. Right now I'm most concerned w/painting the chassis, then putting the front end back on, then the bed and the interior, etc. I hope to have it done by the end of may or before.

Are you going to switch the dual tanks over to the new frame? I thought I had a mint bumper snaged for you but the little peckerhead showed up with the money (2 days late) and the guy let him take. Still keeping an eye out. Yeller seams to be coming around pretty well.. Where did those heads come from? and when you get done with my new powerwasher call me and i'll come get it... no hurry...LOL

No, everything that is currently on Yeller's chassis, is staying on there. I'm gonna take the new shocks off my other chassis and put them on Yeller, and then paint the frame and front suspension. I am going to mount that other tank bank onto yellers frame and buy all new lines and electrical for it too if I can find some. Its wierd though Rich, it says it was a dual tank truck but I see no switch or anything anywhere...Oh well. No worries on the bumper, if you don't mind keeping your eyes peeled thats cool, I'm doing the same.

I finally feel like I'm starting to make progress, I guess thats what happens when you suddenly get a burst of motivatoin. Those heads are the ones that came w/the truck, just gonna clean em up and put new valve seals in them and that'll probably be about it. Oh, and I'll tell my Dad that you need your pressurewasher back ASAP, maybe we can deliver it to yah! lol
