Okay, so a 454 has the same stroke as a 502
Thanks to all your help I now know that the difference between a 454 and a 502 is the bore. The strokes for boh are 4.00" but the bore of a 454 is 4.25" and the bore of the 502 is 4.466". My latest question for you guys is will I have any problems boring out the 454 block to the same as bore as the 502? Will the new bore be to big that it will cut into the waterjacket? Any information you guys might have would be a great assest to me!

Man please don't think I'm creepy & just want to rain on your parade... but the most I believe you can safely bore a 454 over is about .125 w/o problems which gives you only 481ci. Save a little longer & buy the 502 block.

Just build you a 496 stroker using the stock 454 block, and a 4.25" stroker crank.
For a quick primer on stroker motors and some great prices as well, go to www.strokermotor.com SC
