67 to 72 on 86 frame?

I have a really nice 86 3/4 ton 4x4 frame that i want to but a 67 to 72 body on. How hard is this and what fabrication must be done?

I would think that all you need to do is re-locate the mounting pads on the frame. Mudder67 has a 67 4x4 on a later frame, he's the expert.

The wheel base is different, and you'll have to make a custom body lift to make the body sit level on a non level frame.

I put a 72 body on a 79 4x4 frame, man what a job..... The 79 rear half of the frame was rotted beyond,we cut another 79 frame and welded, palted and bolted it together... Homemade body lift ,about 4 inches... Lot of work, but can be done....

badphish....pm me your email addy and I can send you some pics of all my mounts and a little bit of what I did. I can say that you will need a way of lifting, a torch, and a welder, to start with.

Good idea having a engine sitting on the frame when u do this so you dont have issues with the distributor or valve covers.
