I just got my new tail gate, made by TRI-PLUS well I was WANTING to put in on. but my original trunions which are in perfect condition dont match up to the tail gate

has this happened to anyone else???? so am I forced to purchase trunions now from the vender where I got the tail gate. or is the tail gate wrong and do I need to send it back????

Don't know where you purchased your tail gate from but when I could not find a decent original Chevrolet 'gate locally I opted for a blank repop 'gate I purchased from GMC Paul thru the board. With just some very minor trim where the 'gate hinges rubbed whene closing the 'gate it fit just fine. No problem at all in the trunions. The 'gate seems just as "heavy" as an original in material used. Very pleased with it and am liking the "blank" panel more all the time. Not sure who mfg. the 'gate.

If it's a TRI PLUS i would send it back for a new one, they are great tailgates but sometimes we get some mis stamped gates in.

thats where this one came from ironhorse, I listened to all here on the board and decided to start working with venders on the board and this is the first body panel I purchased from a board vender. the gate I got is a plain gate, it was delivered in good time and packed very well but my trunions wont go into the gate its like the gate location for both sides are tilted and out of square. ( being a machinist little features get the big once over)
