That looks great. This summer I am planning on doing my interior. Where do most people get the tweed that they are using to do this?

How hard is it to recover a headliner? Mine has almost no material left on it anymore but I don't wanna pay $180 for a new one, where can I get upholstery and stuff like that? My interior is tan. I don't wanna use tweed, I was just thinking cloth or something like that.

i got my tweed from a place called galaxy foam which i thought was the last place id expect to get it. i went to almost every single fabric store in vegas and all of the old ladys working in these places looked at me like i was absolutely out of my mind when i told them that i was going to reupholster (sp?) my truck interior in tweed. my advise to anyone looking for something that is not made to go with a truck or vehicle is to ASK!! this is the first truck im building and i had no idea how or where to get most of the of the wall sh!t. but i just took 20 minutes everyday after work and drove around asking everyone relevant to my specific task. eventually i ended up at the end of a long chain (sometimes short!!), but i got what i needed at a fraction of the cost of "truck specific vendor" prices. long story short: do the foot work in your local area

it was the MOST unbelievably easy thing ive done on any vehicle. the hard part was getting that son of a b!tch OUT of the truck. all i did was get the head liner out, put it on the floor of my garage, got all of the old material off, sprayed it with some really good adhesive (on the headliner and the material), held it down around the contours while it dried (one to two minutes dry time), then wraped the excess around the edges and trimmed, then reinstalled. IT TOOK ME A TOTAL OF 30 MINUTES TO TAKE IT OUT AND RECOVER IT. but it sat in my garage for a week before i put it back in hope this helps.

See my write-up from 2002; it might help you. 1986 Suburban Headliner Replacement

You can buy new headliner material (foam-backed fabric) at JoAnn Fabrics or Hancock Fabrics, at least in MD and VA.

Good luck!
