What did you get done XXXIX edition

Since this is Superbowl Sunday I assume most of ya'll watched the game. Hey I watched it and I don't ever watch football.

About the only thing truck related I did was sell the tires and wheels off of my old GMC. I put them on Ebay but the winner was local so he came by and picked them up. He paid me in cash too...$$$$

Besides watching XXXIX what did you get done?

Broke my camshaft on monday, pulled my motor out by Wednesday. Put the new camshaft in and got the motor buttoned back up on Friday. Saterday, put my motor back in, started at around 11 and got done around 10 or so. I am so tired.

I worked all day Saturday, and today I had the joy of replacing the alternator on my Ranger...in 20 something degree weather...with a sinus infection/cold combination. I also managed to box up a 73 grill for another board member, and sent another board member some money for some bucket seat floor tabs to complete my second set. I did manage to start working on the bed of Yeller this week. I rearranged my over crowded garage and then had a buddy come over so we could get the bed up on its end. Now I can work on my fuel cell access/door, and box in the cross braces where they were notched to clear the drop shackles. Once I get that done, it goes off to the bodyshop to get the stake pockets & factory gas doors shaved and jammed.

Fixed the exhaust on my Corsica, disassembled, built a crate and then boxed up a bunch of parts off of my suburban. Then I worked on putting the grille and stuff back together on my 73.

i had a pretty crappy weekend. Friday night i went to U of O to go visit friends about 30 minutes from OSU where i am attending. played some drinking games and had a good time with my friends. the next morning we all pile into my car to go get some food. a couple block down the road i wonder why i dont have any low end in my stereo. we get to the cafe' and i open my trunk to see if i have any loose connections.. well take a look and look for yourself.... ahhhh a$@#$^#$^#@^. the police report added up to 2500 dollars worth of stuff including my half gone pack of gum. ive been checking e-bay and the local pawn shops but nothing yet. this guy knew what he was doing, picked the lock (didnt punch it) had wire cutters (even snipped my RCA cables) he had to have a buddy with him ( bandpass box + subs + amp was atleast 220 pounds) what a jerk. i dont want my stuff back, just 20 minutes with him and a tire iorn.

FYI all my doors were locked, you cant see i have any subwoofers or amps or even speekers in my car. i had my faceplate off and everything. okay im done..
EDIT: i forgot to add. they even broke the trunk light.

Nothing really, finally got the brakes bled again on the '78. Changed back to my cast iron water neck as I thought my chrome one was corrded and leaking. May have just been a little loose, but I had it off so I changed it anyways. Washed everything since it was like 60* out. I was surprised the S10 cleaned up as good as it did. Had to be its first wash in 8-10 months.

Oh, and I didnt watch the stupidbowl!

Washed the truck and took it Home Depot to get the wood to build a damn doghouse. Did find the knock in motor. 2 of the 3 torque converter bolts were loose. Tightened them up and now it sounds sooo good.

Washed the unit (just in time for the rain today), then proceded to change the t-stat, fuel filter and some liberal cleaning of the carb. Put in a new sending unit for the oil pressure gauge (works great) and tried to tighten a stubborn leaking lower radiator hose. I also am running some Amsoil fuel system cleaner through the carb this week to see if it cleans up the performance and mileage any. Watched the first half of the game...mostly to see the commercials. Ate too many brats off the grill and went to bed with a tummy ache. Whew!

I made it to the local swap meet saturday bright and early and picked up a few goodies. Got a 78+ malibu hood for 175.00 (brand new steel 2" cowl), and I picked up two timing chain covers for an LT1 for 5.00.(going to weld the waterpump, and distributor holes up for when I got elec. waterpump and coilpacks.

Saturday evening I started pulling the top end of the wagon motor apart to change lifters. Got the lifters in and intake on saturday, and finished it all up sunday, in time to do homework.

These Comp R lifters are nuts, they only say to preload them .002"-.004".

Oh yea, I also scored some Halibrand wheel centers from a lady I work with, they will be pinstriped soon.
