Military 1970 1/2 ton with front disc brakes??

I need to pay more attention on here about front brake options..

Had a guy say his brother has a '70 military 6 lug with disc brakes up front..
Is this true??

I thought 71 started the disc brakes?

Just curious

Disc brakes started in 71. Only 6 lug discs would be on a 71 and up 4x4.

Or, of course, they could be a conversion with custom 6-lug rotors. Not factory, though.

And in '71 they started using the 5on5 pattern so the last year for 6 lugs was 1970.

ask for proof, but it is probably a 71 4x4 or has been converted to disc and 6 lug rotors which could be purchased aftermarket

I know somewhere I've heard of 70's with discs....maybe really late 70 models, I don't know for sure.
